Bangkok Temples
Explore Wat Pho, Wat Arun, and the Grand Palace - the spiritual heart of Thailand.
About this place
Bangkok's historic Rattanakosin Island contains the spiritual and ceremonial heart of Thailand. The Grand Palace complex, home to the Emerald Buddha, showcases 150 years of Thai royal architecture. Wat Pho houses the 46-meter reclining Buddha and is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage. Across the river, Wat Arun's Khmer-style prang glitters at sunset. Early morning visits reveal monks collecting alms and locals making merit.
