Doi Inthanon National Park
Thailand's highest peak (2,565m) with twin royal pagodas, cloud forest hiking, cascading waterfalls, and the country's best birdwatching.
About this place
Doi Inthanon is Thailand's rooftop β a 2,565-meter peak covered in cloud forest that's cool enough for rhododendrons and mossy epiphytes. The twin pagodas (Naphamethinidon and Naphaphonphumisiri) near the summit were built to honor the King and Queen and offer sweeping views on clear days. The park has several accessible waterfalls (Wachirathan and Mae Klang are the most impressive), a nature trail through sphagnum bog, and Doi Inthanon Royal Project market selling Arabica coffee and seasonal strawberries. Birdwatchers come for the green-tailed sunbird and Hume's pheasant.
