This sanctuary focuses on end-of-life care for elephants who can no longer work, including several blind and arthritic elephants. The best experience is the overnight volunteer program where you help prepare specialized meals and learn about elephant geriatric care. Bring comfortable walking shoes and rain gear as the mountain weather can change quickly, and book at least 3 months ahead as they only accept 6 volunteers at a time.
