Mae Takhrai National Park
A pristine forest park featuring the stunning Chaloem Phra Kiat Waterfall and virgin rainforest perfect for serious nature enthusiasts.
About this place
This off-the-beaten-path park protects some of the region's last remaining virgin forest and features the impressive 100-meter tall Chaloem Phra Kiat Waterfall. The park requires more effort to reach but rewards visitors with unspoiled nature, diverse wildlife including hornbills and gibbons, and excellent birdwatching opportunities. The waterfall is most impressive during rainy season (June-October), but trails can be muddy - bring proper hiking boots and insect repellent.
