Pattaya has reinvented itself over the past decade. While Walking Street still anchors the nightlife reputation, the broader city offers the Sanctuary of Truth (an all-wood temple masterpiece), Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, Cartoon Network Amazone water park, and excellent seafood on Jomtien Beach. The surrounding area includes Koh Larn island (30-minute ferry, much cleaner beaches), the Silverlake vineyard, and several floating markets. Budget flights from Bangkok airports have been replaced by a comfortable 90-minute bus ride from Ekkamai.
