About this place

The 2-hour pre-dawn hike through dense forest requires a local guide (contact the park office in advance). Ruins date back to the 11th century and are completely unrestored, giving them an Indiana Jones-like atmosphere when shrouded in morning fog. Pack extra batteries for cameras as the humidity drains them quickly, and wear leech socks during rainy season (May-October).
