The terraced formations have been built up over thousands of years by calcium carbonate deposits, creating dozens of natural pools at different temperatures. Arrive early morning to have the terraces to yourself for photography, and don't miss the traditional Thai massage pavilions that use heated spring stones. Local vendors sell hard-boiled eggs and corn cooked directly in the spring water – a unique culinary experience you won't find elsewhere.
