Krabi, Thailand
Grueling 1,237-step climb to a mountain summit temple with panoramic views of Krabi province.
About this place
This challenging pilgrimage site requires climbing a steep stone stairway carved into the mountainside, gaining 600 meters of elevation through dense forest. The reward is a golden Buddha statue and 360-degree views stretching to the Andaman Sea. Start before 7 AM to avoid crowds and heat, bring water and towel, and allow 2-3 hours total including the descent. The temple complex below also features meditation caves and resident monks.
