Wat Phra That Doi Kham
Known as the 'Temple of the Golden Mountain,' this hilltop complex features a massive white Buddha statue visible from across the valley and stunning Burmese-influenced architecture.
About this place
This active temple complex houses a 17-meter tall white marble Buddha statue and offers spectacular 360-degree views of Chiang Mai valley. The temple combines traditional Lanna and Burmese architectural styles, with colorful dragons and intricate woodwork. It's much less touristy than Doi Suthep but equally impressive. The road up is steep, so hire a songthaew or drive carefully. Best visited in late afternoon for golden hour photography.
